Brandon Clinic Medical Corporation is pleased to welcome Dr. Eloka Okoye, General and Colorectal Surgeon, to Brandon and the Brandon Clinic.
Dr. Okoye obtained his MBBS from the University of Nigeria and his residency training in General Surgery at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, one of Nigeria’s foremost teaching hospitals. He later relocated to the United Kingdom, where he completed specialist training in General Surgery and gained entry onto the UK General Medical Council Specialist Register as a General Surgeon.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). He also completed a Master of Surgery (ChM) in General Surgery at the University of Edinburgh, followed by fellowship training in Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK.
Prior to relocating to Canada, Dr. Okoye worked as a Consultant Colorectal and General
Surgeon at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, providing independent elective and emergency general surgical and colorectal care.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Okoye has a strong interest in medical education, surgical training, clinical leadership, and quality improvement. He has taught and supervised resident doctors and medical students and has contributed significantly to multidisciplinary colorectal cancer care.
Outside his medical practice, Dr. Okoye is an ardent lover of sports and still actively plays football, tennis and ping pong.
Dr. Okoye provides comprehensive assessment and surgical management of a broad range of general surgical conditions, with subspecialist expertise in colorectal surgery.
